student orientation tour

Your next step in becoming an ASU student.

Preparing you for academic success takes center stage at ASU. ASU expects all incoming freshmen to attend Orientation. Students who attend ASU Orientation are more likely to be successful, because they understand the academic rigor of the university and register in courses that keep them on track for graduation. Below are details about ASU Orientation for freshmen starting Fall 2008 on all ASU campuses.

Before You Attend Orientation

Your Major: In order to provide you with the appropriate academic advising, it is important that we have the correct information about the major you have chosen. If the major displayed on your reservation confirmation is incorrect, or has changed, please contact New Student Orientation or submit an Orientation Change Request to update your major information at least 5 business days before your scheduled ASU Orientation program. Note: Requests for changes to the major are updated every 24 hours. If you have not already made your Orientation reservation, please contact New Student Orientation to change your major before making a reservation.

Placement Exams: ASU requires all incoming freshmen to take the Unified Math Placement Exam at least three days prior to Orientation.  Students will not be able to register for classes until they take this exam. See details.

Measles Immunization: ASU requires students to submit documentation. Students will not be able to register for classes until measles documentation is on file.

AP, IB and CLEP Test Scores: In order to receive college credit for Advanced Placement (AP) courses, the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and/or College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), request that your official test scores be sent to ASU. Results from these exams will also be used by your academic advisor to place you in appropriate courses.
