New American University Scholar

To be a New American University Scholar means more than assistance with financing your education, it includes a unique opportunity to begin making a difference while you earn your degree.

Arizona State University is committed to helping a greater number of academically qualified students graduate than ever. Our New American University Scholar awards are offered to outstanding incoming undergraduate students as they pursue academic excellence at ASU. Many of these scholarships are renewable. This program provides qualified students a monetary award and an environment focusing on knowledge, learning and research plus resources toward understanding and helping solve society's most pressing challenges.

ASU's New American University Scholars receive more than an award; they have the special gifts of opportunity and experience to work on the university's Challenges Before Us initiative.

Apply for Admission

ASU considers students once they have been admitted to ASU. No separate application is required from the admissions application. If you have not yet applied to ASU, submit an application for undergraduate admission and accompanying materials (official transcripts, test scores and application fee). Note that there are different priority dates for each scholarship.

Scholarship Renewal Criteria

See the Scholarship Renewal Guide for information about maintaining scholarships for all scholarships listed above other than the Barack Obama Scholars program and College Attainment Grant, which have separate renewal standards.
