Register to attend Soul Claps in the Sanctuary: Black Performance as Black Liberation in the 80’s & 90’s, a virtual event hosted by ASU’s Center for the Study of Race and Democracy. The event will feature DJ Scholar Lynnee Denise in conversation with Dr. Marlon Bailey as they explore Black music and performance as radical sonic landscapes of Black liberation. Together they will share their perspectives on Black feminism, the cultural politics of blues and techno music, and ballroom dance in Detroit.
