The FAFSA
In order to apply for federal financial aid you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid [1] each year. The FAFSA opens every Oct. 1 and ASU's priority filing date is Jan. 1. Aid is awarded on a first come, first served basis so apply early.

What do I need to file a FAFSA?
- FSA ID, which you'll create at fsaid.ed.gov [3]
- Social Security number
- driver license
- bank statements
- parent information (if you're a dependent)
- W-2 forms and tax returns from two years ago (2015 return for the 2017-2018 FAFSA, and 2016 return for the 2018-2019 FAFSA) You may use an estimated income; however, ASU may require you to verify your income.
