Curriculum

Arizona State University offers courses that fulfill the requirements for health professional schools. Resources are available at the pre-health professions library. Prerequisites for each course at ASU should be confirmed in the course catalog and with the academic departments.

Please refer to the following list of courses. The following list is not all inclusive and each school and field has subtle differences. Check with your professional school(s) of interest for a complete list of pre-requisites.

Core Courses

BIO 181 and BIO 182 General Biology I and II (can be taken out of sequence) or
BIO 281 and BIO 282 General Biology I and II for majors
CHM 113 and CHM 116 General Chemistry I and II (also known as Inorganic Chemistry) or
CHM 117/111 and CHM 118/112 General Chemistry I and II for majors
CHM 233/237 and CHM 234/238 Organic Chemistry I and II
MATH at least 1 semester of calculus recommended, check with your major advisor for degree requirements
PHY 111/113 and PHY 112/114 General Physics I and II

Courses may not be required, but are recommended.
