International Freshman Orientation and Registration

You are highly encouraged to seek academic advising and register for your fall classes as soon as possible. Please note that you will not be able to register for classes until you have been advised and your academic advisor has cleared your advising hold on My ASU. You have two options:

Option 1

If you are in the U.S., you are invited to participate in an on-campus New Student Orientation program, where you will be able to receive advising and register for classes.

Option 2

If you are unable to travel to the U.S. for orientation, contact your academic advisor directly, who will provide advising by email, phone or other online options. See your advisor contact information in the Academic Support Team box on My ASU. Some ASU colleges have set up special registration processes to assist international students with advising and class registration. That information is provided below.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

You are encouraged to register for and participate in the New Student Orientation program, where you will be able to meet with an academic advisor to select courses and register for classes. 

Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering

Engineering encourages all students to attend an orientation program. However, those unable to attend a program may work directly with their academic advisor via email or phone. Visit Engineering’s next steps for new students  for more details about receiving academic advising and registering for classes.

W. P. Carey School of Business

In order to receive academic advising and register for classes, students at the W. P. Carey School of Business must first complete the school's Online Orientation for international freshmen. To gain access to the online orientation, log into ASU’s  Blackboard using your ASURITE and password.  Click on the Organizations tab then in the My Organizations box, click on W. P.
