Discover what ASU is like
If you experienced foster care and are an entering freshman or transfer student in fall 2019, you can kick off your ASU experience by participating in Bridging Success Early Start. This free, six-day program is specially designed to welcome you to ASU, connect you to the Bridging Success community and help you learn about campus resources that will support your success!
Bridging Success Early Start begins Sunday, Aug. 4 and concludes on Friday, Aug. 9 - just in time for you to begin ASU Welcome Week activities with all of your classmates.
By participating in Bridging Success Early Start, you will:
- get connected with Bridging Success staff dedicated to your success
- live on-campus to begin your transition to college life
- become familiar with campus resources
- learn about university academic expectations and strategies for success
- receive lunch and dinner Saturday through Thursday at no cost
- meet new friends and participate in fun activities!
The schedule each day will be from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students are expected to participate in all activities each day. Optional social activities in the evening will also be provided.
Bridging Success Early Start is offered on the Tempe campus and is open to students enrolled at the Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic or West campus.
Whatever your campus, we want you to join us and live on-campus to have the full experience! If you plan to live on another ASU campus in the fall or community, you can live in free temporary housing on the Tempe campus with other Bridging Success students during the program.
Admitted to ASU for fall 2019? Register now for Bridging Success Early Start. To attend the program, you need to be enrolled full time in spring classes.

March 17: Registration for Bridging Success Early Start opens
July 20: Bridging Success Early Start Registration deadline
August 4: Early move-in and Bridging Success Early Start program begins
August 9: Last day of Bridging Success Early Start (Move-out of temporary housing)
Housing for Bridging Success Early Start
Students living on-campus in Tempe for fall 2019: Submit your Fall Housing Application through the ASU My Housing Portal. After you are assigned fall campus housing, be sure to "Request an Early Arrival" through the ASU My Housing Portal. This will allow you to move on-campus early to participate in Bridging Success Early Start on August 4.
Students living on-campus at Downtown, West, or Polytechnic campuses for fall 2019: Submit your Fall Housing Application through the ASU My Housing Portal. After you are assigned fall campus housing, be sure to "Request an Early Arrival" through the ASU My Housing Portal. This will allow you to move on-campus after Bridging Success Early Start on August 11. The Bridging Success staff will assist you with arranging your temporary on-campus housing at the Tempe campus during the Bridging Success Early Start program.
Students living off-campus for fall 2019: The Bridging Success staff will assist you with arranging your temporary on-campus housing at the Tempe campus during the Bridging Success Early Start program.
