If you ever wanted to study abroad, but thought you couldn’t afford it, here’s your chance. Discovery Fellows can use their Discovery Fellowship to help fund study abroad or an independent travel experience.
Working alongside a professor on a cutting-edge research project can be a game changer for your career. Discovery Fellows can use the Discovery Fellowship for undergraduate research projects or independent study.
Chances are you have a project or idea that’s entirely your own. The Discovery Fellowship can be used in many different ways as long as it enriches your academic experience.
We believe that our legacy as an innovative university is a direct result of our faculty and student innovators, and their big ideas.
To celebrate being named the #1 university in the U.S. for innovation, ahead of #2 Stanford and #3 MIT, for a second straight year, we are launching the Discovery Fellows Program to invest in the changemaking ideas of our out-of-state students.
There are no formal entry requirements. Each application will be judged on the basis of the individual student’s academic achievement, extracurricular pursuits and the quality of the applicant’s initial plan for the Discovery Fellowship.
If you don't yet have a fully formed idea of how you would use the Discovery Fellowship, we still encourage you to submit an idea. Your ideas can change during your academic experience to fit your evolving goals.
The Discovery Fellowship will be activated at the end of a student's sophomore year. At that point, Discovery Fellowship plans will be finalized with a faculty member or advisor within the student's academic discipline.
