Tuition Installment Plan

The Tuition Installment Plan provides students with the option to budget payment of tuition, program tuition, and health insurance over several months.  It allows students the convenience of paying their tuition charges in a series of installments.

Payment Installments:
Tuition, program tuition, and health insurance will be billed in three installments.

Voluntary Enrollment:
Students may enroll in the Tuition Installment Plan by logging on to My ASU and selecting Finances in the Quick Links box on the left, then selecting "Tuition Installment Plan".  The student's account will be charged a non-refundable enrollment fee, which is due at the time of the first installment.  For Fall and Spring semesters, the enrollment fee is $100 for Resident Students or $200 for Non-Resident Students.  For Summer, the enrollment fee is $50 for Resident Students or $100 for Non-Resident Students for each Summer Session in which they registered up to a maximum of two sessions.  Enrollment is available beginning:  July 1 for Fall semester; December 1 for Spring semester; and April 1 for Summer semester.  Students must reenroll in the plan each semester.  If you require assistance, you may contact or visit the Student Accounts Office located in the Student Services building.

Automatic Enrollment:
Students who do not pay tuition and fees by the applicable tuition and fee payment deadline will automatically be enrolled in the Tuition Installment Plan and charged the non-refundable enrollment fee, which is due at the time of the first installment. Monitor your account for tuition due dates and review the Tuition Deadlines calendar.  The tuition and fee payment deadline is extended for students with pending financial aid.

Tuition Installment Plan Fee:
Students enrolled in the Tuition Installment Plan will be charged a per semester administrative fee to cover costs associated with enrollment in the plan.  The fee is non-refundable, even if students withdraw from classes. The fee will be charged to students who have been enrolled in the plan automatically as well as those who enrolled voluntarily, and is due at the time of the first tuition installment plan payment.

Financial Aid Students:
The tuition and fee payment deadline is extended for students with pending financial aid - please refer to the Tuition Deadlines calendar.  Students receiving financial aid may choose to enroll in the plan, but financial aid will pay all tuition charges, including the three tuition installments, and other currently due charges prior to being refunded to the student.

If financial aid is not awarded and accepted by the tuition due date, tuition charges must be paid to avoid automatic enrollment in the Tuition Installment Plan.  If accepted financial aid is not sufficient to cover the tuition charges, students must pay the remaining tuition charges by the extended payment deadline to avoid automatic enrollment in the Tuition Installment Plan.

Prepaid or College Savings Plans:
Prepaid or College Savings Plan payments should be mailed at least two weeks prior to the applicable tuition due date to avoid automatic enrollment in the Tuition Installment Plan and assessment of the nonrefundable installment plan fee.  Notification to Arizona State University of pending payments by the Prepaid or College Savings Plan does not exempt a student from automatic enrollment in the tuition installment plan and assessment of the nonrefundable installment plan fee.

Eligibility:
All students are eligible to enroll in the Tuition Installment Plan after they register for classes.  Once a student enrolls for classes, he or she will not be withdrawn from classes during the current semester for nonpayment.  Students must withdraw from classes if they decide not to attend.

Delinquent Payments:
If students enrolled in the plan do not make scheduled payments, students are prohibited from registering for classes in future semesters and are blocked from receiving University services, such as transcripts.  Former students who do not pay their charges may have their account sent to an outside collection agency and are subject to credit bureau reporting.
