Enrique's Story

ASU Student Profiles

Major: Tourism Development and Management
Hometown: Douglas, AZ

"If you really want to come to school you can make it happen. ASU's financial aid office will work with you to make it possible."

Now in his senior year, Enrique is nearing completion of his degree in Tourism Development and Management which he believes will help him to continue moving up the ladder in the hospitality industry. Diversity is important to Enrique and is one of the main reasons he chose his major and why he chose to go to ASU. Growing up in the small town of Douglas, Arizona, Enrique says, "I wanted to move away from home to experience a different culture; I have found that here at ASU. There is such a range of opportunity: from the variety of degrees offered, meeting new people, lots of different things to do and places to go - you can do anything."

Through his education, thus far, Enrique has found a professor who has been a positive role model, "Dr. Victor Teye challenges you and really teaches you. He cares about you getting a good education." It is these types of classroom experiences, the variety of people on campus and the wide range of options for what you can do that have made an enjoyable college life for Enrique.
