Alexander's Story

Alexander, a native Californian, found the decision to attend ASU an easy one as his older brother attends ASU. Alexander says, "ASU is not too far from home. I'm not 'alone' alone. I am here with my brother and yet I can go home to California as well since it is not that far away."

Eboni's Story

Major: Business Management
Hometown: Phoenix, AZ

Eboni is a senior majoring in business management. Eboni combines her academic experience with her experience as a professional actress, dancer and singer, and she is also involved in clubs such as the Black Business Students Association. Eboni says, "I have had many great opportunities to learn and grow in life. These opportunities prepared me for high school, college, work, and have taught me to keep an open, curious mind about everything."

Elena's Story

"If you're thinking about going to college, don't procrastinate. It's a bad habit you should get rid of immediately if you want to be successful in school." Elena has experienced researching and going through the process of choosing a school, applying for admission and applying for financial aid. She knows that the earlier you start the better off you are. As a first generation college student, she did most of the legwork herself with the help of her high school counselor who provided resources on how to apply for financial aid including scholarships.

Enrique's Story

Gideon's Story

Major: Leadership in International Management
Hometown: Douglas, AZ

Growing up in a small town and with big dreams, attending a university sometimes seemed out of reach for sophomore, Gideon Hod. "I used to think I wouldn't be able to afford college," Gideon said.

Gideon, a leadership in international management major at the West campus, selected ASU for its lower tuition and because he wanted to stay in state. He started the admission and financial aid process early. "It's important to get a head start on everything if you plan to go to college," he said.

Jennifer's Story

Jennifer is a senior pursuing a degree in industrial engineering. Although at first the cost of attending ASU seemed intimidating for Jennifer and her family, they quickly moved through the financial aid process and Jennifer received her financial aid package. "The aid that I received has helped me get to where I am now. The grants, loans and Work-Study awards cover my classes and living expenses."
