Welcome Leader/Coordinator Program FAQs
Q: Who can be a Welcome Leader?
A: Incoming Freshman student who will live on ASU's Tempe CampusQ: Who can be a Welcome Coordinator?
A: Returning ASU student who will be living on or off ASU's Tempe Campus
Q: What's the difference between a Welcome Leader/Coordinator?
A: Welcome Leaders and Coordinators are both responsible for helping students move into their dorms. Welcome Coordinators are the team leaders.
Q: Can I live on another campus?
A: No, Welcome Leaders and Coordinators are only on ASU's Tempe Campus.
Q: When is the deadline to apply?
A: The deadline for Welcome Leaders is May 15, 2009 and May 29, 2009.
Q: What if I have prior commitments like Marching Band, Summer Bridge, or Camp for my College, can I be a Welcome Leader/Coordinator?
A: To be a Welcome Leader or Coordinator you will need to be available for the duration of this program. If prior commitments would cause you to miss any part of the program, we would ask you to reconsider this program.
Q: What time can I move in to my hall?
A: Anytime after Noon on move in day.
Q: Do I have to live on campus to participate?
A: Welcome Leaders will need to live on campus and Welcome Coordinators can live on or off campus.
Q: Can I attend Fall Welcome events if I am a Leader or Coordinator?
A: Yes, we strongly encourage you to attend Fall Welcome events
Q: What if my College event interferes with the program?
A: College events should not interfere with the program. We will be handling issues such as this in case by case situations.
Q: How do I sign up to be a Welcome Leader/Coordinator?
A: You can submit your application online.Q: Do I get paid for doing this program?
A: This is not a paid position. You will, however, gain excellent team work and leadership skill that can be applied in the future.
Q: How much time commitment does it involve?
A: These positions require you to go through training a couple days prior to Fall Welcome.
Q: Do I have to have parent permission to be a Welcome Leader/Coordinator?
A: Welcome Leaders and Coordinators must be 18 years of age by the starting date of the program. Although parent permission is not required, we encourage you to share the information with your parents.
Q; Is there a GPA requirement?
A: No
Q: Do I need to have special qualifications to be a Welcome Leader/Coordinator?
A: Special requirements are not required, but we will look for candidates with strong leadership and team work skills.
Q: What meals are included in this program?
A: We will be providing all meals for the duration of the programs.
