Scholarship Description The American Muslim Women's Association is a non-profit private charitable organization committed to improving the economic status of women from all ethnic and religious backgrounds. AMWA-AZ is pleased to announce several scholarships for fall 2009, which will be renewed for the spring 2009 (depending upon satisfactory academic performance). These scholarships, which are offered in any field of study, have been established to recognize the academic achievements of full time female undergraduate students at Maricopa Community Colleges and ASU. All eligible female students are encouraged to apply irrespective of their nationality, ethnic, or religious background.

Amount: $1,000

Minimum Enrollment Status: Full-time
Residency: Arizona Residents Only
Need-based: No
Grade Level(s): HS Senior Enrolling for Fall, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior
Campus(es): Downtown, Polytechnic, Tempe, West

Additional Eligibility Criteria: 

This scholarship requires the following additional eligibility criteria/information:

  • A completed application
  • Income/expense statements including other scholarships, loans and grants, etc.
  • Documentation of community involvement and extracurricular activities
  • Two or more letters of recommendation by counselors and/or teachers
  • A copy of transcripts
