What is Spring Welcome?

Spring Welcome is a half-day orientation program for incoming freshmen who have been admitted to ASU’s Tempe campus for the spring semester.

When is Spring Welcome?

Spring Welcome 2010 will be held on Friday, January 15th.

When can I sign up for Spring Welcome?

Registration for the Spring Welcome program will begin in early November. Please check back for more updates

Is there a fee to attend Spring Welcome?

The fee to attend the Tempe campus Spring Welcome program is $40.00 per ASU student and $15.00 per guest.

Where can I park once I arrive to campus?

Free parking for Spring Welcome participants at the Tempe Campus is provided in Lot 3, just outside of Gammage Arena. Please note that all handicapped stalls, metered parking, and reserved parking will be monitored and enforced in this lot. To view an ASU map, please visit the ASU Maps and Directions page.   

What happens at Spring Welcome?

Attending the Spring Welcome is a great way to start your first semester at ASU. At the Tempe Campus program you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet other new students.
  • Talk to a representative from your college.
  • Learn about involvement opportunities.
  • Get your Sun Card (ASU photo ID). Note:  The fee to purchase a Sun Card is $25.00 and not included as a part of the Spring Welcome fee.
  • Talk to representatives regarding financial aid, student health, housing, and campus dining options.
  • Take a campus tour.

Will there be information sessions for parents/guests during Spring Welcome?

Yes.  Parents, families and guests are welcome to attend Spring Welcome with their ASU student.  There will be optional information sessions to attend during the day especially for parents and families.  Learn how to successfully support your new ASU student, meet other parents and families and find out how to join the ASU Parents Association!

Will I receive academic advising at Spring Welcome?

Please be aware that you are required to speak with your academic advisor about requirements and options before you register for classes and before attending Spring Welcome.

If I register for Spring Welcome, when will I be able to move into the residence halls?

If you register for Spring Welcome, the residence halls will open for you to move in after 3:00pm on Friday, January 15th, 2010.  It is important that you select the box within the registration system requesting early move in.
