ASU Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of the Knights of Pythias Grand Lodge Scholarship for the 2010–11 academic year. The Order Knights of Pythias is a great international fraternity, founded in Washington, D.C., February 19, 1864, and embraces more than two thousand subordinate lodges in the United States and Canada. The Fraternal Order Knights of Pythias and its members are dedicated to the cause of universal peace. Pythians are pledged to the promotion of understanding among men of good will as the surest means of attaining Universal Peace. The distinguishing principles of the Order Knights of Pythias are “Friendship, Charity and Benevolence.” The practical expression of these principles takes the form of support and contributions of funds to blood banks, Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation, emergency relief funds nationwide, higher education facilities, homes for the aged, infirm and children, Kiddy Kamps for unfortunate children, safety campaigns promoting courtesy on our highways, scholarships for college and university students, as well as many other opportunities for public service.

Additional Eligibility Criteria: 
  • Must be a graduate of an Arizona high school and an Arizona resident (unless parents are professionally re‐assigned or stationed outside of Arizona and the student has no control over residency).
  • Be admitted and enrolled full time (24 credit hours per academic year) as a Junior or Senior undergraduate degree‐seeking curriculum at ASU during the 2010‐11 academic year.
  • Have a 3.50 or higher cumulative academic GPA, non‐weighted.
  • Have a demonstrated financial need (as determined by the student having filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form and having the resulting "Student Aid Report" on file in the ASU Office of Student Financial Assistance). Preferred filing deadline – March 1, 2010.
  • Demonstrate the potential to continue with their college career by remaining in good standing with the University and maintain all scholarship criteria. This scholarship may be renewable if all criteria are maintained, however students must re‐apply each year.
