National SMART Grant
National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant
If you are a Federal Pell Grant recipient, your student record will be evaluated for this federally-funded grant program that awards $4,000 for each of the third and fourth academic year of study.
In addition to being a Federal Pell Grant recipient, you must:
- be a U.S. citizen;
- be enrolled at least half-time;
- be pursing a major with at least 3.0 cumulative GPA;
- Be majoring in one of the following fields:
- physical science,
- life science,
- computer science,
- mathematics,
- technology,
- engineering, or
- critical foreign language.

Annual award amounts may be reduced by the U.S. Department of Education if sufficient funds are not available for all eligible students in an award year.
The amount of SMART grant in combination with Federal Pell Grant and other financial aid cannot exceed demonstrated financial need.
Eligible students will be notified in late August.
