Finding the major that is the right fit is easy for some students; others need more time to find one that is the right fit.
ASU has resources to help you find a major that matches your talents and interests and your ultimate career goals.

Choosing Your Major
ASU highly encourages undergraduate students to select a major at the time of application. ASU's Degree Search can assist with major exploration at ASU. Compare different majors with Degree Search to choose a major that matches your interests. If, after you are admitted, you find you would like to change your major, contact Undergraduate Admission at 480.965.7788 prior to attending orientation as orientation schedules are offered by major.
Graduate students may refer to the Graduate College web site for major choice.
Changing Your Major
Using Degree Search, compare your current major with other majors you are interested in to see if the courses you've taken will apply or see how the major change will impact your progression toward graduation. Then follow the appropriate pathway below to change your major.
Newly admitted students prior to registration/orientation: Call Undergraduate Admissions at 480.965.7788.
Newly readmitted students prior to registration: Call Recording/Readmissions at 480.965.7550.
Continuing undergraduate students: Contact an advisor in the major you are interested in pursuing to determine eligibility and to complete the change of major process. Remember that many majors have GPA and other requirements for eligibility to pursue that major. (There are no change of campus requirements, only from major to major.) See the advising directory.
Already completed a Declaration of Graduation? Contact an academic advisor in the department that offers the degree or major that you are requesting.
Graduate students: A change from one graduate degree program to another requires a new application to the Graduate College. The usual admission procedures are followed. For additional information, contact Graduate Admissions, 480.965.6113.
Minors, Double Majors and Certificates
Undergraduate students have a variety of choices to supplement their study in their major. Students should seek academic advising early in their enrollment to ensure they are taking the correct courses to meet both their major requirements and additional study choices.
See the ASU Catalog for details.
