International Student Health Information

Welcome to ASU

International Student Health Insurance

Arizona State University requires that international students have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage. All international students must enroll in the ASU student health insurance plan, and cost for medical coverage is included in the registration billing. There is a special provision for students who have health insurance through their government, or who are under the sponsorship of an agency that is responsible for their educational expenses, including medical coverage. All such coverage must be pre-approved, be equal or better than the coverage provided by the ASU policy and must be maintained throughout their enrollment at ASU. There is also an exception for certain dependents of employees who have coverage through their U.S. employers. Students who are exempt from enrolling in the ASU insurance plan must obtain a waiver each semester; no waivers are granted after the second week of classes. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the Health Insurance office of the Campus Health Service at 480.965.2411 or by e-mail: insurance@asu.edu.
