How do entering freshmen apply for the ASU Advantage?

Students only need to:

  1. Complete the ASU Admissions Application, and
  2. Complete the FAFSA.
What is the general eligibility criteria to participate in this program?

If you meet the following criteria, you will be eligible to participate:

  • Arizona resident.
  • Arizona high school graduate.
  • Admission to ASU as a degree-seeking freshman for the fall semester.
  • Demonstration of total family income of $25,000 or less on your FAFSA.
  • Full-time enrollment at any of ASU’s campuses in fall the fall semester and full-time enrollment for seven consecutive semesters thereafter (fall and spring).
How is the $25,000 total family income determined?

A student's total family income must be equal to or less than $25,000, as documented on the student's FAFSA for that award year.

What is the maximum number of semesters a student can participate in the program?

Program participation extends for eight full-time, consecutive semesters.

Do I have to be enrolled full-time to be eligible for this program?

Yes. Full-time enrollment as of census for each fall and spring semester is required.

How will I be notified if I am eligible for this program?

Participation and Renewal Criteria will be sent to eligible students with their Financial Aid Notification.
